You can manage your Seasonal Affective Disorder
If you're a fellow SAD sufferer (seasonal affective disorder) then I hope you're noticing the longer afternoons – yay - it makes a huge difference to me and I hope it does for you. My SAD disappears at this time of year - fingers crossed yours does too.
Congrats to the Beckham's - a fourth child on the way - who would’ve guessed as Victoria still looks far too slim. Now that it's out in the open and hopefully will see her smiling more!
No surprises they’re hoping for a girl after three sons - I'm sure what they're hoping for most is a healthy baby.
Sticking with babies if you're trying IVF to conceive as a good friend of mine is right now - definitely get some laughter and humour into your life. A report out today shows that laughter helps you improve your chances with IVF.
Funny enough I'm looking forward to the first night of Milton Jones nearly sold-out tour on Friday - get a ticket if you can - he's one of these highly intelligent stand-ups, quick witted and makes you think a bit.
Was v sorry to have to turn down flying to Dublin tomorrow to record the Craig Doyle show - have work commitments in the diary that can't be cancelled. Would've loved to have a day and night over there. It's coming to the end of his present series so maybe it'll work for his next series.
Speaking of telly, having been on Loose Women last week I noticed the headline about Denise Welsh pulling a "sickie" yesterday... well, if you believe the headline, not exactly a sickie. She's a feisty, beautiful, talented woman with a family that loves her and I hope she's looking after herself no matter what the papers say.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: isn't it the way of life that some of the talented, creative, sparky people we know have riskier sides to their nature? There's something about creativity and "quirkiness" that go hand-in-hand.
If you have someone in your midst - a family member or friend - that has an unusual side to their nature that might end up self-destructive, be there for them and keep a watchful eye.
It's true, with the best will in the world you may not stop bad things happening to good people but you can hope to do so.
So... being ill I stayed in last night instead of meeting an old pal but I got to hear Jessie J on Radio 1 doing her A-Z of music influences. She’s a one-woman phenomenon - made good background music as we sat and had a late dinner.
Also loved the new Miles Kane track that Zane Lowe played at the end of his show.
Check out Deerhunter - loving their tunes.
Watching Black Swan tonight - seeing as I took ballet lessons three times a week from age 3 to 13 I still have an interest - I think this film's about a couple of 'warring' ballerinas.
Enjoy your Tuesday, Pam X
My new book The Emotional Eater's Diet is published in the UK on May 15 - I’m very excited as I hope emotional eaters - women or men will find it helpful. Each year 2/3s of people start a diet and 20% start a new diet each month. Yet 95% of diets aren’t successful.
I firmly believe that emotional eating to soothe difficult feelings is the culprit behind most of this failure. My book has a huge range of practical tips/strategies to help understand your emotions and manage your appetite. There are mini-quizes and real case studies.
It’s available to preorder on Amazon. Please remember that food can fuel your energy needs but not your emotional needs. Take care!
