Don't Let the Exam-Season Become a Disaster...Here's my advice to...
Lovely to hear that the soulful, and ever so talented Michael Kiwenuka has been named Radio 1's artist of 2012... need I remind anyone that I've been singing his praises for about 14 months on this site!?
Many other top talents on that list nearly made it including Spector, Skrillex and TEED - going to be an amazing year for music.
It's a new year and on the MSN UK ‘Her’ channel I've had three articles go live to help make the most of a new start.
So if you broke up with your partner recently there's one about handling a New Year breakup. ..yep, most breakups are painful things but they can hit even harder this time of year when you had such hopes for spending 2012 with that special person who's no longer part of your life.
Maybe I should ping over a copy to Russell Brand and Katy Perry? What a disaster...I'm sure there's a scientific principle that the more grandiose your wedding the quicker it falls apart...they had that crazy extravaganza in Indian. Same thing with Kim Kardashian's ridiculous expenditure.
For singles there's a creative guide to dating with some (I hope) fun suggestions.
I've also written about how to resuscitate your relationship if it's been battered over recent months.
TODAY’S TIP: what troubles me [for ‘troubles’ read ‘annoys’] about so many couples is they'll MOT their car but not their relationship.
Excuse me but what's more important - your car or your relationship?? Apart from the cheeky minority that might be shouting "my car!" it's obviously your relationship and yet we spend so little time making sure they're okay.
Use 2012 to start a new relationship habit - once a month [that's only 12 times this year] sit down for some uninterrupted time together and that means no mobiles, BlackBerries, etc. to distract you.
Put these dates in your diary and unless there's an earthquake don't cancel them!
Take a walk, enjoy a new café, etc., but sit and talk about the way you two have been relating over the past month. Have you slipped back into bad habits? Are you taking stress out on each other? That sort of thing.
But also look at what you've been doing right! Highlight some of your best moments from the last month - try and build more of these into your relationship.
Enjoy your weekend, Pam x
